Kids Parties Sydney – Birthday Tips

Planning your child’s birthday party can be a little confusing.. We know!  

That’s why we decided to help you organize the perfect kid’s party in Sydney with our experience and give you some tips we’ve collected over the years and some good advise.. so just follow us.. and the whole process would get a lot easier, creative and even fun!

So.. where do we start?

Kids Parties Sydney’s Tip no.1 – Choose a Theme                                                         

Superheros, Pirates, Indian tribes, fairies, cowboys.. talk to your child about the alternatives. ask them about their favorite characters and take some time to read about those characters on the internet. a brief research would help with making other important decisions later on in the plan. 

Once you chose your Theme it is easier to make decisions of decorations, party essentials (themed paper plates, napkins, paper cups etc), your child’s outfit and even the cake!

We were once invited to a pirate themed birthday party in Sydney where the whole garden was turned into ocean with blue nylon sheeting, wooden plank to cross over it, on the balcony a treasure chest was placed with chocolate gold coins and black balloons with pirate’s skull designs were hung on the trees. It made great atmosphere.  

Kids Parties Sydney’s Tip no.2 – Invitations

Once you know your party theme it is easy to choose an invitation design. You can either buy kid’s party themed invitations or simply do it yourself. For example, if your party theme is Spiderman – get some Spiderman stickers to stick on your hand made invitations. that would be nice..

A themed invitation is good so your guests may have an idea choosing their own outfits.

It is good to know how many guests are arriving to your party and so we recommend you put your contact number at the bottom of the invitation with a request for parents to confirm call their child’s participation.

We recommend invitations should be given away at least 1 week before your party due date.  2 weeks is optimal. 

Kids Parties Sydney’s Tip no.3 – Timing and Program

We noticed that the best time duration for kid’s parties is a good 2 hours to 2.5 hours.

The first half hour is to allow your guests to arrive. you may want to offer them soft drinks and a little snack and allow them some free play time. kids meeting other kids is always an excitement.

After that half hour everyone would have arrived, so your Kids Parties Sydney entertainer can show up and start the party with some real cool games, magic and whole lot of surprises. Whichever it is – an hour party package or an hour and a half, during that time you won’t have to worry about a thing. just sit back and relax with the other parents.. treating yourselves to a nice glass of wine.

When your kid’s entertainer has left, allow another half hour for the kids to sit at the table and enjoy some yummy party food, fruits and of course.. the cake!

Kids Parties Sydney’s Tip no.4 – Party Food

If you have awesome cooking skills and want to impress with deliciously beautiful food – save it for the adults. Really, kids would probably be more in to your party entertainment and playing games rather than eating the food.

When it comes to party food, Kids Parties Sydney recommends – keep it simple.

Make few choices of kids friendly snacks and fruits, arrange it nicely in a colorful environment and you’re set.

Here are some party food choices we know the little ones really like –

Baked potato wedges – Oven chips – Pizza – Pita bread with cheese spread or strawberry jam – Peanut butter sandwiches (don’t forget to remove crust and cut into triangles) – Sausage rolls – Pancakes (can be made few hours or a day before) –  Fresh carrot battons or baby carrots – Watermelon – Grapes – Strawberries – Melon – Raisins – Cheese fingers or cubes – Nachos – Crackers – Cookies – Muffins –  Icy polls

As for drinks, we recommend fruit juice, simply because kids love juice and also because it is a healthier choice. (Juice can be mixed with water for better value and less sugars, fill cups half full to avoid spills)
